Police arrest Oxnard man accused of opening fire on family's vehicle

Believed to be gang related

OXNARD, Calif. - An Oxnard man was arrested Friday in connection to a shooting that occurred earlier this month in Oxnard.

Authorities served a search warrant at a home on the 1900 block of Camino Del Sol in Oxnard and arrested Amador Rosales, 23, of Oxnard.

Police say Rosales opened fire on a vehicle in Oxnard on November 5. Rosales allegedly approached a family's vehicle with his gun drawn and demanded to know where the family was from. Fearing for their lives, the driver of the vehicle sped off while Rosales fired at the vehicle.

No one was injured in the shooting and detectives were able to identify Rosales as a suspect.

During the search of Rosales' home, police found two firearms and ammunition. Rosales was arrested and booked into Ventura County Jail where he will likely face charges for assault with a deadly weapon and committing a crime as part of a criminal street gang.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Oxnard Police Department at (805) 385-7796. You may remain anonymous.
