Oxnard police still searching for suspect in fatal hit-and-run crash

Crash killed 70-year-old man

OXNARD, Calif. - The Oxnard Police Department is still searching for the driver in a hit-and-run crash that left a 70-year-old man dead Sunday evening.

The crash occurred on the 1400 block of W. Gonzales Road in Oxnard. The suspect vehicle collided with a 70-year-old Oxnard resident who died on scene.

The victim has been identified as Frank Ybarra.

Although there are still no suspects, investigators have been able to identify a suspect vehicle.

Investigators were able to obtain a description of the vehicle and pull security camera footage from nearby businesses.

The vehicle is described as a dark-colored pickup truck with tinted windows. Investigators believe that the pickup truck will have noticeable front-end damage.

Although the grainy photos do not give a clear image of the suspect vehicle, police hope that someone has information that could lead to a break in the case.
