OXNARD, Calif. - A San Diego County man is facing felony charges after police say he kidnapped a woman and demanded a ransom.
Cesar Solis, 36, is accused of kidnapping a woman from Mexico, smuggling her over the border and then attempted to collect a ransom from the woman's husband.
Oxnard police were informed of the kidnapping early Saturday morning.
Solis agreed to meet the woman's husband at a location in Oxnard and provided him with a vehicle description.
The husband contacted police and when Solis arrived at the location, police arrested him.
The woman was uninjured but police say Solis did threaten to kill her.
Solis is facing felony charges for extortion, criminal threats and kidnapping. He was also charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.
Solis has a prior conviction for robbery out of San Diego County.
