VENTURA, Calif. - An Oxnard man will spend 21 years in prison for his role in a robbery that occurred in Oxnard in 2013.
Efren Parra, 29, received the sentence after he was found guilty of of one count of second-degree robbery, one count of attempted second-degree robbery and one count of street terrorism back in October, 2016.
A second man, Jose Villalobos, 30, also of Oxnard, was also found guilty for identical charges. Both men were found to have affiliation with the criminal street gang Southside Chiques.
On December 6, 2013, Parra, Villalobos and two other men were arrested after they forcibly robbed two men on El Dorado Avenue in Oxnard.
One of those men, Salvador Avalos, 22, of Oxnard, pled guilty prior to trial and was convicted of one count of second-degree robbery. Avalos also admitted to having ties to the Southside Chiques. Avalos was sentenced in March of 2016 to 12 years in prison.
Jose Villalobos is expected to be sentenced on April 19.
