Orcutt Homicide

ORCUTT, Calif. - UPDATE

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department has identified 28-year-old Santa Maria resident Elyse Marie Erwin as the victim of Sunday's homicide in the 100 block of Goodwin Road.

The Sheriff's Office is not released additional details on the murder at this time citing an ongoing investigation.

Investigators have finished processing the crime scene and the street and parking lot are now open to the public.

Friends and family gathered in the parking lot off of Goodwin Drive this morning to mourn Erwin, and place flowers and candles on the spot where she was found.

The 28-year-old leaves behind a young daughter.

"This came as such a shock to everyone," says Joe Priddy, general manager of the Santa Maria Country Club, where Erwin worked for nearly four years before leaving to manage catering at the Monarch Club in Nipomo. "She was a really sweet gal, always pleasant, the members all really liked her. She will be missed."

Anyone with any information regarding this homicide is asked to call Sheriff's detectives at 805-681-4150 or leave an anonymous tip at 805-681-4171.

A GoFundMe account has been set up on behalf of Erwin's family to help with funeral costs.
