LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. - Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office investigators, along with the Los Angeles County District Attorney, held a press conference Monday morning where they released new information on the arrest of Aramazd Andressian Sr. and his missing 5-year-old son.
Andressian Sr. was arrested in Las Vegas on June 23. Lt. Joe Mendoza with the LA County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau said Andressian Sr. was socializing in Las Vegas--not conducting himself as a grieving parent would. He said investigators believe Andressian Sr. was planning to leave the country and travel to a location where he could not be extradited.
The investigation is ongoing but all of the evidence gathered thus far led to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office filing a murder charge against Andressian Sr. District Attorney Jackie Lacey said she is confident this "no body" case will be successfully prosecuted based on the evidence.
Mendoza told a room of reporters that Andressian Sr. was not cooperating with investigators and that he even lied about some of the events that took place during the disappearance of 5-year-old Aramazd Andressian Jr. Mendoza added that evidence shows Andressian Sr. pre-planned this crime.

Aramazd Jr. was last seen with his father leaving Disneyland at 1 a.m. on April 20th. Investigators believe the crime occurred sometime between 1 a.m. and when the father arrived at Cachuma Lake several hours later.
Based on eyewitness accounts, investigators traveled to Santa Barbara County on several occasions to search for any clues that could lead them to Aramazd Jr.'s whereabouts. They used airships, unmanned aerial vehicles, ATV's and search dogs.
It appears that all the evidence gathered to this point will prompt investigators to return to Santa Barbara County in the very near future. Mendoza did not elaborate on when that would be.
Mendoza said there are no other arrests tied to this murder charge at this time.
Andressian Sr. faces 25 years to life in a state prison if convicted.
