Morro Bay resident arrested for possession of child porn

Police say they found child porn on man's cell

MORRO BAY, Calif. - A compliance check by police in Morro Bay resulted in the arrest of 35-year-old Jeremy Jacob Thom for possession of child pornography.

Authorities said they discovered images of child pornography on Thom's cell phone. "The images were of pre-pubescent children engaged in sexual acts," said the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office in a statement.

Detectives with the Sheriff's Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) team, along with Morro Bay police and state parole officers, conducted the compliance check at a home in the 300 block of Tahiti Street.

The Sheriff's Office said Thom is a convicted sex offender who was on parole for molesting a child under the age of 14. He was arrested for felony possession of child pornography and a felony parole violation. He was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail.
