Man wanted by US Marshal's Office for murder arrested in Ojai Valley

OJAI, Calif. - A Colorado man wanted by the U.S. Marshal's Office for one count of murder and one count of attempted murder was arrested on Jan. 16 in the unincorporated community of Meiners Oaks in the Ojai Valley.

Greg Boren, 25, and his passenger were arrested for drug-related offenses after being pulled over for expired registration tags by a Ventura County Sheriff's deputy on routine patrol, according to the authorities.

The Sheriff's Office said Boren identified himself as Kyle Smith when he was stopped by the deputy and did not have any identification with him at the time.

Due to lack of identification, he was not eligible for release after being booked into the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility until his prints confirmed his identity.

The check of his prints resulted in his true identity.

Boren had been featured in "America's Most Wanted Fans," an unofficial fan page for America's Most Wanted and The Hunt with John Walsh, in 2013.

Boren will remain in police custody in Ventura County until he is extradited to Colorado to face criminal charges there.
