SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Domonick Alonzo Love, 18, has been arrested on two felony counts of alleged sexual assault and a misdemeanor for unlawful intercourse with a minor.
On March 20th, officers were called to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Emergency Room to investigate the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl.
On March 19th, the girl met with friends from the Downtown Santa Barbara homeless community. She then accompanied one of the individuals she met, nicknamed "Slim", to a party on the Westside.
The victim became intoxicated and was allegedly sexually assaulted by her companion.
Based on the description provided by the victim, several people were able to identify the attacker as Love.
Love has a history with police and was coincidentally interviewed the day of the assault by KEYT Senior Reporter, John Palminteri, about a police crackdown.
After an arrest warrant of $100,000 was issued, police barricaded the Downtown area to find Love, but were unsuccessful.
On March 24th, police were sent to a disturbance in Santa Yanez and the deputy immediately recognized Love.
Love was then transported to Santa Barbara Police Department where he was interviewed and evidence was taken. He is now booked in Santa Barbara County Jail on the aforementioned warrant.
