LOS OSOS, Calif. - A Los Osos man was arrested Friday after he threatened his neighbor and then barricaded himself inside his home.
At around 10:30 a.m., San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to a Los Osos home on the 300 block of Manzanita Drive.
Deputies were dispatched for a report of a man who had threatened his neighbor. When they arrived on scene, the man ran into his house and refused to come out.
A standoff began and negotiators were called in to assist with the situation.
The negotiators were in constant contact with the man who had begun making suicidal statements.
At around 2 p.m., after multiple attempts to get the man to come out, deputies made entry into the home. The man retreated into a back room of the home and again refused to come out.
Just under an hour later, deputies entered the back room and arrested the man without incident.
He has been identified as Jaime A. Medina, 46, of Los Osos. Medina faces possible charges for making criminal threats and resisting arrest.
