SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is investigating a large fight that took place near San Marcos High School early Wednesday afternoon.
Sheriff's spokesperson Kelly Hoover said the fight was among male teens in the 4800 block of San Gordiano Avenue, an unincorporated area of Santa Barbara County--across the street from the high school.
Early reports indicated a knife may have been involved in the fight, however, Hoover has not confirmed those reports.
A resident of an apartment complex on Gordiano Avenue told NewsChannel 3 she saw a teen lying on the ground after the fight and received some medical attention from paramedics.
The victim was knocked unconscious and was sent to a nearby hospital. Hoover says the fight occurred after a dispute and teens knew each other.
The resident also said the fight took place in a grassy area frequented by teens for the purposes of smoking and drinking.
Deputies and school resource officers broke up the fight involving the four teenage boys and determined three of them to be the aggressors. Two were booked with felony battery, while the third teen fled the scene. He was later identified and arrested by police who have since released that teen to the custody of his parents.
Due to their ages, no additional information will be given about the juveniles.
