ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. - Authorities with the Arroyo Grande Police Department say they've arrested a felon out on bail responsible for several vehicle burglaries in Buellton.
Arroyo Grande resident Pooyan Eslambolipour, was booked on multiple felony charges that include: Felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, felon committing a crime while out on bail, felony possession of stolen property and an outstanding felony warrant for possession of stolen property.
Police say officers received a report on March 3 from a concerned resident in Arroyo Grande saying he had seen an individual taking a box out of the car and hiding it in nearby bushes close to a home. Officers arrived on scene a short time later and found a gun in the bushes, according to authorities.
Arroyo Grande police say another neighborhood resident told officers that they had seen Eslambolipour acting suspiciously in the neighborhood and provided information that led officers to Eslambolipour and his car.
Eslambolipour was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit. Officers discovered several stolen property items in the suspect's car from car burglaries out of the Buellton area, officials said.
Police say Eslambolipour would not have been apprehended had residents not call to report suspicious behavior and activity in their neighborhood.
