Illegal gambling device seized from Santa Maria restaurant

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Santa Maria Police Department and agents with Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) responded to a Santa Maria restaurant and removed an illegal gambling device on Friday.

The seizure was part of a two-week investigation focusing on Tacos El Tizon at 241 Tower Center East in Santa Maria.

Tacos El Tizon is an ABC "on-sale establishment."

The case has now been turned over to the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control and the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office for review.

Funding for these programs was provided by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control through the Department’s Grant Assistance Program, and some were funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Authorities did not specify what type of illegal gambling device was confiscated.
