Camarillo woman arrested for identity theft after victim's checks deposited

CAMARILLO, Calif. - Camarillo resident, Corinna Navarro, 35, faces possession of stolen property and identity theft charges after authorities arrested her Thursday for a crime that occurred on Oct. 26.

A Camarillo resident reported to police that his personal checks had been stolen, forged, and later deposited into a local bank, via an ATM.

The bank's surveillance camera captured a female suspect depositing the victim's personal checks. Several tips from the community eventually led investigators to identify the suspect in the surveillance video as Navarro.

The Ventura County Sheriff's Office, and the lead agency in this investigation, says they found additional evidence during their investigation implicating Navarro in the crime.

On Nov. 16, detectives located Navarro living in a motel and arrested her.
