CAMARILLO, Calif. - A Camarillo man was arrested Tuesday after police say he attempted to strangle his wife and threatened her life.
At around 2:15 p.m. Ventura County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a home in Camarillo.
Deputies located a 46-year-old woman who reported being injured by her husband.
The suspect, 48-year-old Winthrope Ware, had left the residence before deputies arrived but was located and arrested shortly after.
The woman was transported to the hospital where she was treated for her injuries and later released.
Investigators spoke to the victim at the hospital and learned that her husband threatened her and attempted to strangle her.
Ware was booked into the Ventura County Main Jail and could face charges for attempted murder and domestic battery. His bail was set at $500,000.
