GOLETA, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office has released the results of the autopsy conducted in connection to the murder-suicide that occurred last week at a Goleta apartment complex.
Deputies found two deceased women at a home on the 7000 block of Aldus Drive in Goleta early Tuesday morning.
The victim, 57-year-old Christina Marie Martin from Tampa Bay, Florida, died as a result of multiple traumatic injuries from "dual modality homicidal violence."
Martin was battered and suffered violent injuries to her upper body and head and suffered a compression of her neck.
Martin's assumed killer, Beth Curnow of Goleta was found dead in the garage from an apparent suicide.
The two were long-time acquaintances with ties to Florida.
The motives and circumstances that led to the murder are under investigation.
