Authorities seek public's help capturing credit card fraud suspect

Police: Suspect stole car from Goleta home

GOLETA, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help to identify a man caught in surveillance video who police say is a wanted suspect in a vehicle theft and credit card fraud case.

The Sheriff's Office released two photos of the suspect. See above. He's described as a white male adult in his 20's with dark black hair, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall to 5 feet 11 inches tall.

A white 2011 Scion XB car with a license plate of 6NTC135 was stolen overnight from a home in Goleta. Police have not located that vehicle. The Sheriff's Office says the victim's purse was inside the car at the time of the theft, which the suspect took full advantage of.

"The suspect then used the victim’s credit cards at multiple locations in the La Cumbre area of Santa Barbara," said the Sheriff's Office in a statement. "The suspect was captured by surveillance cameras using the victim’s credit cards."

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call Deputy Tom Green with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office at 805-961-7518, or leave an anonymous tip at 805-681-4171.
