$40K worth of jewelry stolen from a Pismo Beach hotel

Suspect arrested and jewelry was recovered

PISMO BEACH, Calif. - A man from Arroyo Grande stole $40,000 worth of jewelry from a room in a Pismo Beach Hotel.

Pismo Beach Police received a report of theft on Tuesday from a victim staying at a hotel just north of Shell Beach over the weekend.

After an initial investigation, police obtained a search warrant for the suspect, his car, and his residence in rural Arroyo Grande.

Police located 37-year old Jesse Sanchez whom authorities say admitted to the burglary. All the jewelry was recovered and returned to the victim.

Sanchez was taken into custody and transported to the San Luis Obispo Jail and was booked for burglary and drug-related offenses.
