Three ducklings are now safe after they were found in a large drainage ditch.
Santa Barbara County Fire fighters found the ducklings in Saturday night in Goleta.
The Animal rescue Team said a cat chased the mother duck and her thirteen babies—that is when three of them fell into the ditch.
The mother mallard duck was not found. Firefighters were not able to reunite the mother with her lost babies.
Santa Barbara Wildlife Care Network is taking care of the ducklings and allowing them to mingle with other orphaned ducks.
