LOMPOC, Calif. -

Congresswoman Lois Capps came to Lompoc Wednesday, hosting an event helping to link veterans to the benefits they earned through their service to our country.

Around 50 people filled the Veterans Memorial building to learn about the a variety of benefits and resources available to veterans.

"Our veterans do not always get the thanks they deserve," Capps said. "We owe a debt to these men and women and their families. This breakfast will be an opportunity to visit with veterans, hear their stories and connect them with the health, education and other benefits they are entitled to."

Another veterans breakfast will be held in Atascadero on Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Atascadero Elk's Lodge from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Veterans who wish to attend should RSVP with an email to CappsVetsBreakfastnorthcounty@gmail.com
