SANTA MARIA, Calif. -

Runners got a splash of color at Santa Maria's first Catchin' Colors one-mile run.

The event was put on by the Recreation and Parks Department to benefit "PLAY", People For Leisure and Youth. After finishing the course, participants were splattered from head to toe with colored powder.

The run was part of this year's Autumn Festival and organizers hope to bring it back to Santa Maria next year.
