SANTA MARIA, Calif. -

Residents in Santa Maria got an unexpected guest just before 9 p.m. last night when a car plowed into the home.

The Santa Maria Fire Department showed up to the house on Oakley Avenue. Officials say the driver of a four door car lost control driving across the homes front lawn and hitting a front pillar of the house.

People were home at the time of the accident but no one was hurt.

The impact damaged a support post and firefighters had to construct a temporary fix to keep the roof from falling.

Police aren't saying if the driver was sighted.
