SANTA MARIA, Calif. - With money from Senate Bill 1 set to start rolling in, Caltrans is pushing forward with road infrastructure improvement projects up and down the Central Coast.
Senate Bill 1 is projected to generate $52.4 billion in new tax revenue to help repair California's aging roadways. That includes scheduled repairs and improvements to more than 230 bridges statewide. 13 bridges on the list are in Santa Barbara or San Luis Obispo counties.
Caltrans said while the bridges are scheduled for repairs, they are indeed still safe to cross.
