Westmont Warriors Launch Water Wars

College turns water cuts into competition

Warrors Wage Water War at Westmont College

MONTECITO, Calif. - When Westmont students return from Spring break the water wars will begin.

Dorms will be holding a water conservation competition. A prize has not been announced yet, but water saving tools are in the works.

The campus will install shower timers in all dorms during the break and only recycled water will be used by the gardening department.

The campus newspaper plans to encourage students to cover the drought and conservation.

Westmont College intends to cut water usage by about 40 percent , 10 percent more than the Montecito Water District directed its customers to cut back after declaring a drought emergency earlier this year.
