SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - Voters will have a chance to learn more about a controversial ballot initiative Thursday.
The Goleta Valley Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Measure M forum and luncheon at the Courtyard Marriott from noon to 1:15 p.m.
Speakers will include former Santa Barbara County CEO Mike Brown and Santa Barbara County Taxpayers Association Treasurer Lanny Ebenstein.
Chamber CEO Kristen Miller said the business community is split on the issue.
Supporters want to force the county to maintain roads, parks and building. They believe the measure will create budget transparency too.
But opponents said measures create ballot box budgeting that ties the hands of elected officials.
