Brother Arrested For Macing Younger Brother During Fight
A woman is also hurt in the fight
A fight between two brothers ended Friday with one of the brothers in jail.
It started about 1 p.m. Friday when a woman called 911 to report the fight. Sheriff's officials said she sounded as though she was choking.
Deputies responded to the 300 block of El Gaucho Road in the county area between Santa Barbara and Goleta. They were met outside by Mia Rodier-Dawallo, 18, and her boyfriend Matt Woodman, 21. Deputies said Woodman had been sprayed with mace by his older brother Daniel Woodman, 27. The fumes from the mace also affected Rodier-Dawallo, who suffered a head injury when Daniel Woodman allegedly beat down the bedroom door where the couple was hiding.
Deputies said Daniel Woodman was armed with a knife during the incident and ripped the phone line from the wall when Rodier-Dawallo tried to call 911 for help. Instead, she ran outside and used her cell phone to call for help.
Daniel Woodman surrendered and was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on $20,000 bond. He faces charges that include battery, unlawful use of tear gas and disconnecting an emergency phone call.
