SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

Spectators took photographs and selfies of Biden's Boeing. The Vice President and his wife, Jill Biden, landed in Santa Barbara Friday afternoon.

They were whisked away to a Democratic National Committee fundraiser at an unknown location.  Similar events in other state asked for donations topping $30,000 each.

A helicopter hovered over the Four Seasons Biltmore on Channel Drive.  Sheriff's deputies guarded the back entrance for much of the night.

The Bidens are expected to enjoy the morning and afternoon in Santa Barbara and Montecito before flying out of the Santa Barbara airport late Saturday afternoon.

He won't be tasting local wines. The Vice President is a longtime teetotaler.

This isn't his first visit to the area and fans hope it's not the last.

Many people are wondering whether he will run for president.  The money raised  for the DNC could support local and national races.
