LOMPOC, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department and volunteers are searching for a missing Lompoc teenager who was last seen Tuesday morning.
According to Lompoc Police, 16-year-old Krystal Jongsma was last seen heading toward the library at Cabrillo High School around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. She did not attend any of her classes.
A group of volunteers combed the area around Cabrillo High late Tuesday night and into early Wednesday morning, in an effort to find Jongsma.
Sheriff's deputies and a K-9 unit assisted in the search. County Sheriff's also used a helicopter with infrared night technology to search the area around the school early Wednesday morning.
Jongsma was last seen wearing dark-colored pants and a dark-colored sweatshirts with an olive green backpack.
