SANTA MARIA, Calif. -

Assemblymember Das Williams would like Santa Barbara County Supervisors to sign a letter proclaiming their support for Assembly Bill 1014 known as the Gun Violence Restraining Order.

The issue was scheduled to be on the board's agenda when it meets in Santa Maria on Tuesday, but William's staff said it is going to be postponed for a couple of reasons.

Amendments to the bill are in the works and the supervisors may not all be in attendance this week.

If voters decide to support the bill during a July 8 meeting, a letter will be sent to state legislators and the governor.
