Two attacks Thursday night in Santa Barbara, sends two females to the hospital, and has investigators putting the pieces together.

Police have only released limited details.

The first assault was described as a stabbing, in the 500 block of west Figueroa St. It happened about 8:30 p.m.

The second was moments later on Carrillo St.

Investigators were at Cottage Hospital to interview two females who needed treatment. The extent of the injuries is not known.

Officers were also on the Carrillo St. on ramp to Highway 101 looking in the brush for evidence, possibly linked to the second assault.

It's unknown if the two are connected.
