SANTA MARIA, Calif. -

Friends and family of Antoinette Raygoza  gathered Sunday  to keep her memory alive.

The  memorial marks the second anniversary of the Santa Maria woman's death. On February 29, 2012 Raygoza’s boyfriend killed her.

Friends said they hope to put an end to domestic violence. That’s why they decorated their party with purple and white balloons, the colors for domestic violence awareness.

Taleena Carr, Raygoza’s best friend said, "She was a good friend loyal, family oriented,  a good people person  and always happy."

Carr went on to say Raygoza would have loved the fact that they served her favorite cake at the memorial, white cake with strawberry filling.

Friends and family members  don't want her to be forgotten, and they'll continue to gather in her memory each year.

Raygoza  was 20 years old when she died. The man charged for killing her, Jack Misiaszek, was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
