SANTA MARIA, Calif. - A pedestrian was hit and killed Sunday evening, police are still looking for the suspect.
The driver of a Ford Explorer was driving southbound on SR-135 approaching Winter and Goodwin Roads when a pedestrian stepped into the crosswalk against the red pedestrian signal and into on-coming traffic, according to CHP.
The woman was hit by the Explorer and thrown approximately 150 feet. The driver fled the scene while, the woman suffered fatal injuries.
