Veterans and local job seekers had a chance to meet with employers Wednesday.

The job fair is the culmination of a Ventura County Veterans Training for Employment program.

The fair, sponsored by Santa Barbara Business College, the Workforce Investment Board and the California Employment Development Department, took place at the Ventura County Office of Education in Camarillo.

Dozens of companies set up booths.

Organizers said there are tax breaks for companies that hire veterans.

One speaker said hiring a hero is the right thing to do.
