UCSB Students Host Annual 'Hacking' Competition

For 8 hours Friday, more than 1,000 students from around the World competed in UCSB's 10th annual 'International Capture the Flag Hacking Competition'.

It featured more than 80 teams all testing their peer's security skills from both the attack and defense viewpoints.

Computer hacking was once thought of as a pursuit driven more by geeky passion than a quest for profits but that's not so much the case anymore.

A potentially lucrative career in the field of cyber security awaits once students graduate.
