Two contract workers are hospitalized after an arc flash at Vandenberg Air Force Base.

The Vandenberg Fire Department responded to the call at Space Launch Complex 6 on Saturday.

A Vandenberg spokesperson says the workers were injured in some type of electrical explosion called an arc fire. It is unknown what type of work they were doing at the time of the incident.

They were transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with serious injuries. Their conditions are unknown.

The workers are contracted with United Launch Alliance and are not affiliated with the base.
