Santa Barbara City Fire responded to a structure fire Friday.

Crews were called to 27 S. Alisos Street in Santa Barbara just after 8 p.m. Officials said when they arrived, they found flames coming from the rear of the building. Smoke could be seen from a couple of block away.

Four engines and a truck responded to the blaze.

Officials said crews had to cut a hole in the roof of the building. They were then able to quickly put out the fire.

People inside the house were not injured.

The cause remains under investigation.
