A structure fire in a residential area forced some Santa Barbara residents to evacuate their homes early Friday morning.
The fire started just after 1:15 a.m. Friday on the 1100 block of De La Guerra.
A spokesperson for the Santa Barbara City Fire Department says the fire started in a shed, but that it quickly grew and threatened four to five buildings.
The Santa Barbara Police Department stepped in to help evacuate homes near the fire.
Firefighters were able to keep the flames from causing significant damage to nearby buildings. No one was hurt.
Fire investigators are trying to figure out what started the fire.
