Santa Barbara City firefighters hosted the 7th annual Longboard Classic to raise money for local charities. The surf competition on Leadbetter Beach brings together several public service agencies. Donations go to the Unity Shoppe, Boys and Girls Club and towards helping local firefighters and public safety personnel who are battling cancer or other types of illness. This year, money raised is helping the wife of a Santa Barbara County fireman who has been diagnosed with cancer. Santa Barbara City Fire, County Fire, Harbor Patrol, City Lifeguards and the Santa Barbara Police Department participated in the contest. Click here for more information or to donate. News Channel 3 reporter Joe Buttitta has the story.
