Report of a gun forces school lockdown

On Monday morning around 8:30 a.m. the Santa Maria Police Department received a call about a possible armed subject heading in the direction of Fesler Junior High School.
The school was placed on a precautionary lockdown while authorities searched the area for the suspect armed with a rifle. Officers were unable to locate a suspect and the lockdown was lifted once the area was considered safe.
