Oxnard shooting
OXNARD, Calif. -

Oxnard was the scene of two shootings that left three people dead Wednesday night. Just after 4pm, police respond to reports of shots fired on the 1200 block of Hull Place near Ventura Road and 5th Street. When officers arrived, they found two women dead, one in her 20's the other in her 40's.

Just 30 minutes later, Police respond to another shooting just a few miles away off the 200 block of S. Marquita Street, where police found one man dead. The man was in his 50's. Authorities say they believe the two shootings are connected, a possible domestic dispute.

Neighbors tell NewsChannel 3, they believe the man died of a self inflicted gun shot wound, and may be connected to the shooting of the two women.

Two children were also at the crime scene on Marquita Street. They've been taken into protective custody for questioning. Police say there is no threat to the public. They are not actively searching for a suspect. They do not believe these incidents were gang related, but the investigation is ongoing.
