Overnight News: Earthquake Rattles Mammoth Lakes Area

BISHOP, Calif. (AP) - California seismologists say a small
earthquake has rattled the remote Mammoth Lakes area north of
Bishop.

The U.S. Geological Survey in Pasadena says the magnitude-3.8
quake struck at 4:40 a.m. Thursday some 10 miles east-southeast of
Mammoth Lakes and 30 miles northwest of Bishop, which is in the
Owens Valley 230 miles north of Los Angeles.
