North County Food Bank in Need of Donations

The Santa Barbara North County Food Bank is in need of food donations, not only for the Thanksgiving holiday, but for the entire holiday season.

A recent turkey drive yielded about 300 turkeys, falling well short of the goal of 2,000. The drive's deadline was extended, but officials with the food bank say that donations of any kind are always welcome.

In addition to turkeys, canned goods and other pantry items are always in need, especially during the holiday season.

Donations can be dropped off Monday-Friday from 7a.m.-4p.m. at the North County Food Bank, located at 490 W. Foster Rd. in Santa Maria.
