Hydraulic fracturing is the subject of a workshop this Wednesday in Santa Maria. It's a controversial subject commonly called "fracking". The workshop will begin with an overview of oil and gas production in California, and finish up with an opportunity for the public to comment and express their concerns. The State Department of Conservation is hosting the workshops and public forums before considering regulations. The meeting will be held this Wednesday from seven to nine p.m. in the Santa Barbara Board of Supervisors meeting room. Located at 511 East Lakeside Parkway in Santa Maria.
