Gas leak prompts Costco evacuation

GOLETA, Calif. -

According to Santa Barbara County Fire the Goleta Costco was evacuated due to a compressor gas leak.

Firefighters said the power is out inside the store and they do not believe food quality will be affected by this incident.

By 6:20 p.m. the building was successfully ventilated.

Costco's website indicates they are scheduled to close at 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The incident happened around 4:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon and the cause of the leak is unknown.
