Fatal Accident on 101 Overnight

One person is dead and another serious injured following a rollover accident.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. on the 101 southbound at Santa Maria Way.

Santa Barbara County Fire Captain David Sadecki says the accident involved a vehicle and a "bobtail" truck, and the accident was possibly the result of a wrong way driver.

One of the victims died at the scene.

It took fire fighters about 10 minutes to extricate the second victim. That person was transported to a hospital and is listed in serious condition.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by CHP.
