Ensuring Local Public Safety

Written by KEYT Anchor

Santa Barbara's Fire & Police Commission posed a litany of questions to Police Chief Cam Sanchez and City Administration Thursday night. They're questions that arose after a recent presentation to the Commission by the Police Officers Association.

Although contract negotiations between the Police and City are still ongoing, both Police Chief Cam Sanchez and Fire & Police Commissioner Tom Parker tell KEY News Thursday night's meeting was to ensure public safety needs are being adequately met.

The fire and Police Commission plans to meet with Chief Cam Sanchez and Deputy Chief Mannix again in the coming weeks. It will be another two to three months before the Fire & Police Commission makes any recommendations, if any at all, to the City Council.
