Creek Restoration Project Gets Underway

Construction is set to begin today at the Mission Creek in Oak Park Today.

The project will shut down Tallant Road for two weeks from Samarkand Drive to Alamar Avenue.

The roads will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every weekday until July 26th.

The project is meant to improve the habitat for the endangered Steelhead Trout and reduce stream bank erosion. Crews will also move a sewer main line to prevent sewage spills. 1500 plants and trees will also be planted.
