SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

A well known painting on the wall of the Santa Barbara County Courthouse has been moved to a local bank.

"Cabrillo Landing," by artist Dan Sayre Groesbeck was originally commissioned in 1924, and hung in bank at 1000 State Street.

As the years went on that bank was no longer in business and the painting was donated to the courthouse in 1994.

Recently as part of a renovation project at the Montecito Bank and Trust site at 1000 State Street, Chairman Michael Towbes asked the docents if the painting could be returned to the original location.

The request was unanimously approved.
