The Lompoc City Council will meet Tuesday night to discuss the possibility of bringing a motorsports park to the city.

The Council is expected to consider applying for a state grant to fund the project. The park would be located at the airport.

It would include a drag strip and an off-highway vehicle riding area. City officials said to get the grant, the city needs an active park to better its chances of receiving money.

According to the city staff report, a temporary park will be in place for three years starting next week until the permanent park is up and running.
