The U.S. Coast Guard has two new boats in Ventura County.
The 29-and-45-foot response boats will be used to track down smugglers and save lives .They are now part of the Coast Guard fleet in the Channel Islands Harbor.
Coast Guard officers say the boats have advanced night vision and navigation systems.
They also have trim tabs that give them a smoother ride.
